These behavioral health-focused training modules provide integrated information to support comprehensive care and address unique member needs. The extensive Relias library offers courses designed to improve the likelihood of success in the emerging value-based healthcare delivery system. You also can earn continuing education credits by completing these courses.

The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) developed standardized basic training modules for unlicensed providers and direct care staff as an introduction to the key concepts they must be familiar with and competencies they must demonstrate prior to rendering specialized behavioral health services to Medicaid recipients in Louisiana and the Coordinated System of Care (CSoC).

These trainings cover several topics, including:

    Serious mental health illness and emotional behavioral health disorders 

    Crisis intervention 

    Suicide and homicide precautions 

    An overview of the system of care 

    Cultural linguistic competency 

    Treatment planning

After finishing the required trainings, you must complete and submit an attestation of completion

Learn how physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants can qualify for reimbursement for fluoride varnish services. Review the Smiles for Life Caries Risk Assessment and Fluoride Varnish and Counseling Module, and pass the post-assessment. The course also covers the importance of fluoride in the prevention of dental caries, safety precautions, dosing and application.
