Humana Healthy Horizons help members understand the connections between their physical, mental and behavioral health. 

Behavioral health includes assessing and treating mental health and substance use disorders for our members. We ensure affected members have access to the services and care they need to address their concerns. 

We work with our members and their medical and behavioral healthcare providers to:

Screen for risk factors that could lead to illness and offer early interventions as a part of a whole-health approach 

Support integrated behavioral healthcare by helping our members and providers coordinate services

Humana Healthy Horizons covers a variety of services provided by medical and behavioral healthcare providers in medical clinics, including: 

Screening for alcohol or substance use issues

Screening for common mental health conditions

Assisting with medication management

Coordinating referrals to specialized health services



Humana Healthy Horizons provides a variety of behavioral health resources to help primary care providers manage an integrated approach when providing behavioral health services to Humana Healthy Horizons-covered patients. To increase access to pediatric mental health services, the Florida Department of Health created the Florida Pediatric Mental Health Collaborative. The Florida Pediatric Mental Health Collaborative develops and supports regional behavioral health hubs to offer easier access to technical assistance, skill-building resources, evidence-based treatment guidelines, and consultations for pediatric primary care providers and families. Humana Healthy Horizons supports the Florida Pediatric Mental Health Collaborative’s mission through partnership with various Behavioral Health Hubs.
